About

I am Pedro da Levada , a documentary photographer and author. I was born in Lisbon, but I grew up in Lagoa de Óbidos —and it is here that I continue to develop my perspective, amidst the silence, the tides, and the constantly changing landscape.

My photography stems from attention to what is real. I seek simple, timeless, and honest images: clean compositions, natural light, and details that often go unnoticed.

My work exists in a balance between documentary and fine art . More than "capturing beauty," I am interested in creating images with atmosphere, depth, and truth—photographs that can inhabit a space with meaning.

Each image is designed to exist as an object: a visual piece that invites you to slow down, observe, and feel the place.

Exhibitions

FOLIO 2025 – Óbidos International Literature Festival , where I presented an original series with the Óbidos Lagoon as its central theme.

Fine Arts and Visual Journey

My connection with the arts began long before photography. I studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon , in the Drawing course , where I developed the foundations of my vision: composition, rhythm, light, texture and intention.

Later, I delved deeper into the aspect of visual communication with a specialization course in UX/UI Design at FLAG . This experience reinforced my attention to the essentials—and to the way an image communicates, guides perception, and creates an emotional connection.
